After wrapping up Rage 2 and completing the main story, I found it disappointingly short.
The game excels in areas like its exhilarating gunfights, dynamic battles, and entertaining superpowers, making it a highly addictive FPS experience. The open-world design and vehicle combat were also enjoyable highlights.
However, the game falls flat when it comes to storytelling and world-building. While visually appealing, the open world feels lifeless, and the story lacks the depth and character development to truly engage players. Despite these shortcomings, the fast-paced combat mechanics remain the standout feature.
Rage 2 also has two expansions that I didn’t explore:
- Rise of the Ghosts: Adds a new region, missions, and enemy faction, along with fresh weapons, abilities, and vehicles.
- TerrorMania: Introduces the Deadlands, an alternate reality with new enemies, challenges, and the unique Sword of Transitus.
These DLCs seem to expand the game without significantly altering its core experience.
Even though Rage 2 was released back in 2019, it still holds up as a fun and engaging shooter. If you’re looking for a game where you can spend roughly 20 hours completing the main story quest while racking up a ton of achievements or trophies, this is your game. It’s perfect for players who enjoy chaotic action and a generous helping of destruction.
Have you played it yet, or are you considering diving into its chaotic world?
